Areas of Work

We work in five complementary areas, united by a single method: identify the barrier, then build the capability that overcomes it. No area ranks above another. For each one, we set out the Foundation’s approved activities and the directions in which we aim to develop our programs.

The barrier: limited access to learning, difficulties at school, and gaps in the skills needed for life and work in a digital age.

The capability we work toward: learning and skills that open up wider choices.

The barrier: the physical and social obstacles that limit the participation of people with disabilities, including blind people.

The capability we work toward: independence, mobility, learning, and full participation in society.

The barrier: difficulty accessing health services and medicines, and limited health awareness.

The capability we work toward: healthier lives and easier access to care.

The barrier: unemployment, especially among young people and recent graduates, and a lack of vocational skills and income opportunities.

The capability we work toward: a stable income and the ability to be self-reliant and support a family.

The barrier: difficult living conditions and crises that can prevent families from achieving stability and deprive children of opportunities to learn and grow.

The capability we work toward: stability that allows a family to move forward and become self-reliant.

Commitments Across All Our Work

Alongside the five areas, three commitments shape all of our work rather than belonging to any single area.

Knowledge, Culture & Awareness. We believe awareness and knowledge are part of removing barriers. This includes cultural, scientific and awareness seminars, lectures and gatherings; producing awareness materials and sharing them through audio-visual media; cultural and scientific trips; and scientific research and knowledge sharing.

Environment & Sustainability. We are committed to taking environmental considerations into account in our work, and we aim to develop initiatives for environmental awareness, sustainable consumption, and the responsible use of resources at community level.

Technology as a Tool for Empowerment. We see technology and digital skills as a way to widen learning opportunities, support the inclusion of people with disabilities, open doors to work, and improve people’s access to information and services.
